Deep-rooted beliefs about love create the romantic relationship we end up having.

Once you decide to take charge of your love life and create the romantic relationship you want, we will examine what beliefs you are currently operating on. 

Here are the three most common beliefs about love that I have seen in new clients. 

Please do not let those beliefs build the basis of your romantic relationship. 

Limiting belief # 1: Love is hard work.

Nadja was in a relationship with a man for 10 years. She wanted to be his wife and have two children. The relationship did not progress, and sadly, he was also physically and verbally abusive. 

When he left Nadja to be with another woman, whom he proposed to and married after two months, Nadja was devastated. He kept in touch with Nadja, keeping Nadja’s hopes up and insinuating that he might leave his wife and come back to Nadja.

When we looked at why Nadja put up with this bad treatment for 10 precious years of her life, we discovered that Nadja’s mother once told her that “if you love a man, you have to fight for him”. 

It is essential to believe that love is easy.

Otherwise, you will set yourself up to look for men and relationships that feel difficult. 

When you believe that love is hard work, you struggle and suffer because you think that this will earn you his love, create a special bond, or make him see how special you are. 

Are you working hard to win him and to make this work? 

Are you fighting for this man or this relationship? 

If yes, then you most probably have the underlying belief that love is hard work, needs to be earned, and you only deserve it if you struggle for it.

Limiting belief # 2: Love does not last.

Do you become emotional when you see an elderly couple holding hands? 

Do you like posts on social media where husband and wife celebrate their diamond anniversary?  

Do you feel a little tight in your chest because you think those are rare expectations?  

Did your parents get a divorce (mine did)?
